At Atex, we’ve always believed that a great editorial platform should do more than help journalists write — it should help them understand. Today, we’re excited to introduce MyType Analytics, a fully integrated analytics module built directly into MyType.
No tab-switching. No third-party dashboards. No waiting for a weekly report from the data team. Everything a newsroom needs to understand its audience and its content is now available where the work actually happens.
Why Analytics Inside the Platform?
Editorial teams have long had to navigate a fragmented information landscape. Traffic data lived in one tool, content production metrics in another, and connecting the two required effort that most newsrooms simply don’t have time for. The result: Data was consulted too late, too rarely, or not at all.
MyType Analytics closes that gap. By embedding performance intelligence directly into the editorial workflow, we make data a natural part of daily editorial decisions — not a separate discipline reserved for analysts.
What’s Inside: Four Modules, One View
MyType Analytics is organized into four focused panels, each designed to answer a specific editorial question.
Realtime
Who is reading right now, and what are they reading? The Realtime panel gives editors a live pulse of the newsroom: active users by device, top pages in the moment, referral sources driving traffic, and a breakdown of what’s performing from SEO versus social — all updating in real time.
Audience Insights
A deeper look at how audiences engage over time. Editors can explore pageviews, sessions, bounce rate, and average time on page across configurable date ranges. The panel also surfaces top traffic sources, geographic breakdown, and content performance ranked by pages, sections, topics, and authors — giving editorial leadership a clear picture of what resonates with which audience.
Content Production
Volume and velocity, made visible. This module tracks how much content is being produced, broken down by section, source, and author. With period-over-period comparison built in, editors and managers can quickly spot productivity trends, monitor source diversity, and identify which teams are carrying the most weight.
Content Effectiveness
Perhaps the most powerful panel for editorial strategy: Content Effectiveness moves beyond raw traffic to measure quality of engagement. Editors can compare sections, sources, and authors not just by total pageviews, but by pageviews per article, average time on article, and sessions per article. The result is a nuanced view of what content is not only popular, but genuinely valuable to readers.
From Production to Strategy
The introduction of MyType Analytics reflects a broader direction at Atex: the MyType platform as a strategic tool, not just an operational one. When editors can see, in real time and over time, how their content decisions translate into audience behavior, they’re better positioned to make the next decision well.
This is the kind of data-informed editorial culture that modern newsrooms need to build. MyType is designed to make that culture possible, without requiring a dedicated analytics team to unlock it.
MyType Analytics is available now. Existing customers can activate the module through their account settings or contact their Atex account manager for onboarding support.
